With less than 3 weeks until we leave our home, the excitement for this trip is hitting earlier than it often would. Why? My response when David asked if we would like to join them in Menorca, Spain for his 40th birthday "Sweet FA" celebration took about 1 second. The response when a Nan and Pop babysitting assignment in Scotland was added was pure excitement!
And the wonder just seems to continue. David was asked to work in UK, so trip was brought forward a week. This gives us the opportunity to head to N. Wales to visit an Aunty by marriage, Anne. That is such a wonderful opportunity. We had an amazing visit to her home when my Uncle (Jack) was still alive, and to be returning once more to this part of UK is so exciting!
A few days in The Cotswolds, with a visit to Bristol to celebrate David's actual birthday - of course just 'must do' occasions with a dose of delight thrown in!
I have some birth ancestry from Northern Ireland that has proven quite elusive. One day I would love to discover a little more about Robert Alexander Andrews, from Bangor but this will probably not be the day! However, it is with some excitement that we spend some time in Bangor - just getting a feel for where some of my folk's past existed. Of course, this is a part of Ireland not previously visited, and according to every Irish (and otherwise!) citizen - a "must do".
Off to Menorca for some Spanish seaside and no doubt a little Sangria - amongst other delights! And time with our little granddaughters - and their parents. To have some time with them 24/7 - how lucky are we!
Then to Bonnie Scotland! David and Tara have a wedding, with associated activities at Thornhill. We hope to be able to show off their little princesses with them as appropriate, then sneak away for some Nan and Pop time while the adults play their games! No doubt there will be a good deal of whole family time also, with some Scottish sights thrown in!
